Today is the deadline of an ultimatum given by the Somali federal government for the entire staff of the firm in question to leave Somalia. Nile Acadmey  is a non-governmental organization which manned academic institutions and hospitals in Mogadishu.

The non-profit organization is however among institutions financed by a Turkish cleric namely Fethullah Gulen who was accused of plotting the coup d'état against the Turkish Government led by President Reccep Erdogan, a friendly government to the government of Mogadishu.

Staff members of DEVA hospital also linked to Fethullah Gulen were ordered to leave Mogadishu on Friday.

The general director of DEVA hospital, Dr. Mohamed Al Perto said they had come to assist the people of Somalia only to be told to leave the country.

The Somali cabinet of ministers ordered the Nile staff to leave Somalia upon request from the Turkish government shortly after the attempted coup d'état.

Despite this, the government of the self-declared republic of Somaliland declined to kick out Nile Acadmey staff members from its territories saying that they had not breached any of the country's law.
