At least 30 people have been injured during a Friday prayer when a mosque partly under construction collapsed in Hodan district on the outskirts of the capital Mogadishu.
The Imam of the mosque, Sheikh Mohamed Hashi Farah, confirmed the incident. He said some people were still trapped in debris.
"About 200 construction workers were still at the site when it suddenly fell down. Some of the workers who attended the Friday prayers were injured," Hashi said.
Rescue work is under way and the engineer of the construction work has been held by police for questioning.
There have been no deaths casualties in the incident so far.
The collapse came 24 hours after heavy rains hit part of Mogadishu.
