Thousands of refugees in Garissa county voluntarily return home to Somalia

The Government of Kenya in collaboration with United Nations High Commission on refugees has began the voluntary repatriation of some of the over 500,000 refugees in five camps in Dadaad, Garissa county.

Interior CS Joseph Nkaisery who toured the camps yesterday assured the refugees of long term plans that include stabilising the war torn country and ensuring all the necessary infrastructure are in place before they are repatriated.
