Two charged in weekend slaying of Sharif Said

Sharif Said, 21, was gunned down on Tremblay Road on the weekend. His family insists he was not involved with gangs.

A man accused of shooting 21-year-old Sharif Said dead and the man police allege drove the getaway car both appeared in court Thursday to face charges in the weekend slaying.

Khalid Mohammad, 26, is charged with second-degree murder and Adulaziz Abdullah, 28, is accused of being an accessory after the fact..

Court records indicate Mohammad was sentenced to two years in jail in 2007 following convictions on 10 charges related to a home takover and sexual assault.

Both men appeared in court briefly Thursday morning and were ordered not to communicate with a long list of people including neighbours who live in the area of the shooting and Said’s family members.

Said was found shot dead in the middle of Tremblay Road near Belfast Road on Sunday morning after he had been missing for several hours.

It was the city’s third homicide of the year.
