The family of Adirizak Dirie is growing increasingly concerned about his whereabouts. The 28-year-old went missing nearly one week ago, and has not been seen or heard from since.

“It’s day seven and now everyone’s in panic mode,” said his brother, Liban Dirie, on Monday. “My mother hasn’t slept in a week.”

Family and friends have been searching hospitals, subway stations and shelters with no luck.

Dirie left home on Tuesday April 28 around 12:30 pm. His brother said he usually spent his afternoons in a nearby coffee shop at Dixon and Islington Rds. He added that he has never left home without warning for more than a few hours or a night before.

Dirie didn’t own a cell phone or have any social media accounts, like Facebook, so the family has no way of getting a hold of him.

In a press release, Toronto Police described Dirie as approximately 6'0”, thin build, black hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket with a hood, blue jeans rolled up from the bottom and brown hiking boots.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact police at 416-808-2300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com , text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
