According to the adviser of the Executive, Ali Abdullahi , such consultation "may not be held in Somalia in 2016 because of security problems, with the population census, logistics and the conflicts in the government and the national clans", but admitted the need for the elections would be the first democratic elections in Somalia in half a century.

On Thursday a meeting organized by the UN to urge the cabinet to conduct the elections and to organize the transfer of power, that is to advance the institutional setting, will be held in the Somali capital.

But Tuesday. before Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashiid, deputies and members of the Executive said that this transition would not be effective in August 2016, when the mandate of the Parliament ends.

In this regard, the Parliament and the Government agreed to convoke all constitutional entities to a meeting with members of the international community to discuss the best option on the 2016 elections.

According to media agencies, conclude consultations on the matter later this year to implement before the expiration of the current mandate, the agreed measures.

Theoretically, Somalia started its transition in 2004 and concluded in 2012, with the election by the Legislative of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as President.

He should take the power for 4 years, so he will end his presidential mandate in 2016.

The country is suffering an intermitent state of war since 1991, when guerrilla alliances overthrew Mohamed Suad Barre.

This left the Somali government without a head.
