Mogadishu - Abdulkadir and his family are among the lucky few who have made it back home to Somalia as the conflict rages on in Yemen.

Abshira is among the 260 who arrived in the port city of Bossaso in the semi autonomous state of Puntland.

As the conflict in Yemen rages on, Somalia is facing a renewed humanitarian crisis as hundreds of refugees from Yemen arrive in the east African country.

autonomous regions of Puntland and breakaway Somaliland to the north are already dealing with the refugee crisis. At the port of Bossaso in Puntland, ambulances are on standby to carry the sick and the disabled.

The majority of those arriving were women and children who’ve spent almost a day in the sea. Puntland authorities were ready to receive them.

For years, tens of thousands of Ethiopian and Somali migrants travel across the Gulf of Aden to Yemen hoping for better economic prospects.

But with Yemen descending into a full-blown conflict, the fate of nearly 250,000 refugees who have settled in the country – mainly from Somalia – hangs in the balance.
