Istanbul, Turkey (HOL) - The Global Somali Diaspora Conference in Turkey has just got under way in Istanbul today. The event which is the first of its kind aims to explore a way to work towards a unified Somali Diaspora community.
The Conference will run all day and include key note speeches from the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Dr. Maryam Qasim, the former Minister of Social Services in Somalia and prominent members of the Somali Diaspora community.
The Somali Diaspora communities are represented from all over the globe and they will work together on formulating solutions towards creating a unified Somali Diaspora for the next two days. The organizers state that the objective of the conference is to empower the vast Somali Diaspora by connecting them through a single entity.
HOL will report every evening on the day’s news and outcomes through the two days of the conference.
