Warn of terrorist threat against Norway

Sunday, July 27, 2014

The Norwegian Security Police (PST) and the Intelligence Service have warned of possible concrete terrorist acts against Norway. Masures have been taken to meet this threat. This was announced by PST Chief Benedicte Bjørnland at a press conference in Oslo Thursday morning.

She said that the information they had received was very spesific, and that they had therefore decided to inform the public.

However, no concrete details were given, and it is uncertain who is behind the threat, but Bjørnland indicated that they were persons with ties to a certain group in Syria.

Justice Minister Anders Anundsen said certain measures were already taken, among them posting armed police at border crossings, airports and train stations.

However, so far all public transport is running at normal schedule.
