GARISSA MCAs have told Governor Nathif Jama to stop politicking and focus on serving residents.

Addressing the press outside the assembly, majority leader Ibrahim Abdi and Jarajilla MCA Mahat Osman hit back at recent criticism of a plan to impeach Jama.

The motion cites gross violation of the constitution, specifically the Public and Disposal Acts.

“The governor should focus on tackling the problems residents are facing, including lack of drugs in hospitals,” Osman said.

“It seems he is not in touch with the issues,” he said.

Jama has termed the allegations as baseless and said the motion will fail.

The MCAs, who were flanked by their colleagues, said the impeachment procedure should not be politicised.

They said the assembly will give Jama a fair hearing.
