Somali and African union forces took over Jowhar airport

The allied forces are continuing their advances towards key installations of Alshabab controlled cities and towns around the capital, Mogadishu.
Jowhar a major life-line to Mogadishu is the administrative capital of middle Shabelle region.
The town which is 90kms-north of Mogadishu was controlled by Alshabab before they were forced out late last year.
Government sources are now confirming that the airport which is one of key installations in the town has fallen after government and African Union troops raided last night.
Officials in middle Shabelle region promise to take over the remaining towns in the area.
