A Kenyan delegation led by foreign minister Moses Wetangula visited Mogadishu for talks with AMISOM and TFG officials.
Kenya military spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir revealed last week that his country is seeking to join AMISOM mission.
Chirchir said Kenya will not send troops to Mogadishu, but will fight Alshabab in the areas they have already deployed troops in the south of the country.
The Kenyan defence minister Yusuf Haji told reporters in Nairobi that he has handed over to the AU, Kenya’s final arrangements to join AMISOM forces in Somalia.
In his visit to Mogadishu Wetangula discussed with AMISOM and TFG officials latest developments on Kenya’s bid to join the AU troops.
Kenya sent its troops to Somalia last year, but faces increasing Alshabab resistance on the ground and reprisal attacks inside Kenya.
