MP warns government over UPDF-AMISOM pay

The Member of Parliament for Mbale municipality Jack Wamayi Wamanga has warned the UPDF against deducting the UPDF soldier’s salary for purchase of their uniform and other military equipments.
This came after reports that government through the UPDF deducts salary of the UPDF officers on battle line in Somalia to buy for them military ware yet its government which is supposed to buy the military ware and equipments for the soldiers on battle line
Wamayi told journalists at parliament that government should stop taking the UPDF officers’ money who are in Somalia because they sacrifice their life on battle line with Alshabab rebels.
Wamayi says that they have information that UPDF deducts 200 dollars from the soldiers’ pay in Somalia from the 1028 dollars each gets per month.
