Twins face court over Somalia terror charges
Evening Standard
Friday, April 20, 2012
Twin brothers will appear at the Old Bailey accused of terror charges today.
Mohammed Shabir and Mohammed Shafiq Ali, 24, are charged in connection with an inquiry into fundraising for terrorism in Somalia.
Shabir was arrested at his home in east London and Shafiq at a business address in west London three weeks ago.
They are each charged with assisting another to commit acts of terrorism or in preparation for acts of terrorism.
They also each face a charge of having a document, 44 Ways To Support Jihad by Anwar Al Awlaki, which could be of use in terrorism.
American-born Anwar al Awlaki was killed last year in a drone strike after leading al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between August 20 2008 and June 21 last year.
