President culsow is no thief. He is no more legitimate than any of his predecessors since the assassination of President Sharamke, but the lad is not corrupt. Neither is Ms Fowsiya Adan, Somaliland ladies are never corrupt let alone one such high born.

Wow, wow, these are heavy allegations.Relevant Parliament committees should quickly get to the bottom of this. If any wrong doing is found by any leader, he should account for his actions--including impeachment!

The Shulman Rogers contract is also troubling because it allows for recovered assets to be transmitted into the custody of the Somali president and prime minister – a provision that undermines the independence of the central bank. Maneuvering to take full advantage of this clause, in September 2013 Hassan Sheikh had himself designated an official legal representative of the CBS through a U.S. State Department section 25B certification. The document, signed by the Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns, authorized Hassan Sheikh to “receive, control, and dispose of” any assets recovered on behalf of the Central Bank of Somalia.

“United States acceptance and recognition of the President’s authority over overseas assets was duly exploited to convince other Member States and financial institutions to similarly give exclusive control to the President, along with Shulman Rogers,” the Monitoring Group letter alleges.

This takes the breath away!! How can this be allowed, isn't this clear a breach of the independence of CBS?! How Hassan Sheikh explain taking of the clause which allow him to “receive, control, and dispose of” any assets recovered on behalf of the Central Bank of Somalia?

Instead of questioning it the president is actually taking advantage of the clause in Shulman Rogers contract.

The president denies the allegation of Yusur Abrar and ESMG, claiming he had no knowledge of any wrong doing. Let's see him deny this when the US state department has documental evidence of him designated himself as an official legal representative of the CBS.

Well written article. The current Somali president is a national disgrace. The prime minister Abdiweli is a great man, same with the foreign minister. This theft of funds is enough to be tried for treason. The president and former foreign minister should be arrested and tried in court on charges of conspiracy to embezzle public funds. Yussur Abraar is a national hero.

Sorry Somalia, it is your fault, because you accepted a corrupt and staged clannish drama (you called an election)and were making funny noises and lots drum-beating even before he was inaugurated. Now, let the man do what he is good at doing (stealing). Here is a question for you; why did Hassan Sheikh sent Abdiweli to London and did not hop to the plane this time? Answer: He knew that there was going to be a lot of questions asked both by the UK government, media and in Chattam House.

“They want to take over national assets so they have something to sustain themselves when they are ki'cked out at the next election.”

Xaaraan ku naaxu waa cudurkii Afweyne keenay. Laakiin Soomaalidaa waxeey ku maahmaahdaa: "laga bartaa laga badiyaa".
