 Quran Raac,

Not a single Somali today practices fully what is written in the Quran. Paper money is haram, yet even you use it. Gold & silver are the only legitimate currency in Islam. The muslim world has failed, that is why the world is in such chaos. If muslims had been united & stood up to the West the world would be a better place. Instead we were divided. These clever people destroyed the Khilafah by creating Saudi Arabia. The King of Jordans great great grandfather accepted 200 million british pounds for betraying the Ottaman empire, a traitor to Islam. The only way for Somalis to redeem themselves is to reconcile all clans & sign peace treaties, negotiate a form of government not this garbage the UN is imposing and reclaim all Somali territories stolen from us. The borders imposed on Somalia are unacceptable and must be changed. We are at war until we reclaim what was stolen from us.

"secular laws defending women's rights and stop the sharia law"

You think secular laws can protect women from se-xual offences, but you don't think sharia law can? That shows you've been brainwashed by the West and you igno-rance about Islam, you need to learn about your religion.

We cannot make a cultural leap in one go, but the most serious crimes must tackled first.

These are necessary laws but they must be Somali driven otherwise it will not be accepted and implemented. I don't understand the need for Legal Action Worldwide, Somalis are capable of making these laws.

The biggest culprits are both Somali and foreign security forces, leaving them out of this bill makes it not credible.

you guessed wrong ahmed. many women are suffering by the hands of somali men. most somali women suffer in silence and even ashamed to tell their families. we need to stop living in denial and face the facts

WTF why are NGO's writing laws? I condemn in the strongest terms Somali leaders in the current government. When a country cant write its own laws all hope is lost. F**king b*lls*it.

it is really sad to see these innocent young and old women in a line behind a fence and their issues are someone else's
pay check.

that's the problem omar there are not many wise somali men who respect women. if somalia wants to become a democracy they have to see women as equal.

somali parliament needs to pass more secular laws defending women's rights and stop the sharia law. i think one of the reasons we failed as a society is because we treat our women like animals or slaves.
