As for the issue regarding a good ‘leader’ with qualities of honesty, good leadership and vision – President Sheikh Ahmed Madobe might be the RIGHT person. Not only his religious knowledge and background stand apart from the most of other prominent politicians, but he seems to be far more competent, fair, honest, good-hearted and patriotic than most of other “leaders”, and especially his recent speech showed that the gentleman has what it takes to be the Somali president.

For now, the gentleman deserved my respect and he is definitely a good candidate for my vote!

Very thoughtful and well-balanced article indeed!

Rather than singling out the president and blaming all our ills on him, the author eloquently stated that the main problem is a combination of lacking good political leaderships (both on federal and regional level) and the fact that clanism, nepotism and rampant corruption are deep-rooted in our blood and accepted as cultural norms within our society. Sad and yet very true!

The author also suggests that it’s about the time for the country’s top leaders (president and PM) and the whole government to put aside the political differences and the shameful and wasteful practices, and start focusing on the issues that would end the prolonged internal conflicts and lift Somalia out of instability and poverty.

It takes more than one man to tackle the Somali issue, and it will definitely require more than one man to change the course of our beloved nation !!!!

 Rashid Ahmedei,

It's a good article. If you don't like it, thats unfortunate. Hassan Sheikh is a traitor to the Republic who has used soldiers salaries to take trips abroad. He's a failure & illegitimate.
