Dear Mr Adriona,

Thank you for sharing us with your moving story. Indeed we have one big thing in common, you and I were born in Somalia.

I am in a nostalgic mood again after I read your story. It is an ongoing nostalgia for me since I left Somalia many years ago. It is a yearning for the past – the “good old days”.

Of course there are memories that we need to forget, but to remember those more positive influences – people, places, possessions, all these can be wonderfully evocative and heart warming.

Waaw....just reading the name "kasa popolare" reminds me of sweet memories.

You see, I lived there. I am sure I did because when I am in downtown and I want to take the bus (caasi) to go home, I would take the "kaasa balbalaare" caasi. . I did not know that it s settlement for the Italian Immigrants!

Later a new settlement called "African Village" was created- only to become a getto 10 years after it was completed.

I enjoyed reading this short history.

The Somali independence of 1960 was fake because Italian surrendered the rule of Somalia by his Somali spies and Somali mercenary soldiers. After 51 years, Somalia are still under occupation. Adriana, welcome you still can visit your home country (Somalia)and Jubba is most peaceful area in the world. Take adverture and visit where you born.
