  baghdad bob & micanow,

You can tell by the pictures everything was blown OUT of the hotel. The hotel is owned by a Kenyan who set it up at the same time Bancroft entered Somalia. Why would a Kenyan set up a hotel in Mogadishu, while it was the most dangerous place in the world? It makes no sense for any foreigner to set up a hotel in a warzone. Bancroft (CIA) helped him set up his hotel near they're own & both began & ended construction at the same time. All these hotels (spy dens) are on public land. No one knows how much, if at all, was paid for these public lands. I don't know who was behind this attack, but you are a fool if you believe al-Shabaab is responsible. The most likely culprit is Bancroft. The more al-Shabaab attacks the more contracts they get. Bancroft has made over 100 million dollars in Somalia from contracts with the AU. They benefit the most from al-Shabaab attacks.

If you observe the two pictures and get you data from it, you will find that explosives from single truck cannot cause this destruction, if you witness all the windows are blown out, the markings on the walls is verification to that, Somalis must open their eyes, look beyond current event, there is third force involved here, the hotel pictures is testimony to this, stare it from every angle.

Another factor that confuses me is, how openly shabab businessmen and financiers operate in Nairobi. They import sugar and other food stuff and deliver to all major outlets in Nairobi. Their hub in Eastleigh section 6 is known to everyone - where most of their fund transfer and other shabab related activities are planned and executed. Their East African spiritual center is also in the same place. They even congregate in that same area in large numbers all dressed in shabab outfit and yet the kenyan police is busy destroying somali owned businesses.

I agree! something doesn't add up. I recall sometime ago where a truck carrying some 14 tonnes of liquid explosives was stopped somewhere between kenya-somalia border by clueless kenyan police. The truck was owned by a somali-kenyan from Garissa and most probably the explosives were imported through the port of Mombasa. we all thought it will hit the headlines, suddenly the news went cold and not a single word about the arrest. All those explosives ended up in somalia. The local police officials were most probably not in the loop and hence why they made the initial arrest.

24 innocent people killed in Cameroon by two girls suicide bombers. It happened at Westgate in Nairobi before it is not unique to Somalia. Many innocent people were killed today and it is sad that some sick Somalis drag in clan politic into this tragic. We all have the right to question sluggish security lapses that has allowed a big lorry carrying such a huge amount of explosives get into such high security area. Few weeks ago there was a car bomb at restaurant few steps away from Villa Somalia surely there is a serious security issues. The target of this attacks is The Capital city, there are people who are so much against rebuilding of this city that they are ready to sent their young men to blow themselves up almost everyday. They will fail because Mogadisho people and good Somalis are resilient as all will see tomorrow the streets wlll be cleaned and soon the hotel will be rebuild just like central, Makkah al Mukaramah were rebuild and life will continue

I agree with you, the capital should be moved to some where safe.

How about Garowe? That will work just fine.

A big trgedy which the perpetrators intend to harm the city's image and in doing so dessuade the American President not to include his visit schedule. I still HOPE Mr president will defy and go ahead the visit regardless of this deperate group.
That action will signal the death of Terrorists(ALSHABAB) and more importantly huge psychological boost to all recovering nations.
The Somali government need to start ending Alshabab amnesy, which has been ineffective and went on far too long, simply those who are not ready to be civilised cannot be lallabied to see their bad ways.
The other major thing the President(Somali) needs to take in to account is the 70th United nations general assembly, which as it happens coincides with the 15th of september, the world democracy day to show how far we came to help ourselves and how little the International community is letting us down by not even thinking anything that resembles a Marshall Plan, So to use the occassion to name and shame those world powers who sing world over that they are ready to support Somalia, just EMPTY promises as usual. Besides pledging quadrilions in the past, are yet to contribute any sizeable amount of it, which led to this weakening of the general morale of civil service, security services by not being paid, because the is nothing in the government's coffers.
The huge budget deficit is mainly the mis-match of the donor pledges and the actual reciepts which to this day has only local taxes components.
It will have no consequence if silence is not broken and we don't show the world that we are making headways to deal with this problem once and for all.

Alshetaan will claim anything cause they are devil worshippers and twisted. After the death of xildhibaan yusuf dirir they claimed then hours later it was confirmed it was clan militia who killed him, i will wait for the investigations to finish if at all they will  tell the truth.

My uncle who works for the UN in Somalia has called the incident "suspicious". The hotel is in one of the most secure zones in Mogadishu. The damage done is too much for a car bomb. My uncle said  "explosives were placed INSIDE the buildings". There is a massive global conspiracy against Somalia.
