The passage you were referring to is quoted fron Goth's brilliant article (last paragraph) and I happen to agree with him. So please read carefully before jumping into hasty conclusions.

Whether Mogadishu is actually important or not is another debatable subject, but the fact remains: Mogadishu is the capital city of Somalia and as such is special, strategic and historic city.

You are a free thinker and those are in short supply as the hostility towards your views on this board shows. However I also believe you are wrong. Our Islam brought us nothing but joy, serenity, calmness and beauty. It was tolerant, easy-going and utterly Somalised. I canot remember a single way in which our Islam somehow harmed us as a race. We remained proud, black, African, somali and utterly brutal. Salafism changed all that. We lost all our identity except the brutality which has polished, refurbished and given a medieval edge with dollops of the cultures of Assir and Jizan. So atack Salafism which is killing our culture and leave our Islam alone. It nourished us.
