A study of the Psychology of a Nomadic Society and its Implications for Somaliland
This paper was presented to: The Somaliland Policy and Reconstruction Institute (SOPRI): The Somaliland Convention June 24-26/2005. LAX Hilton. Los Angeles USA
In this study of Somali society, I have explored the psychological state of the Somali in the light of recent literature on human evolution and the psychology of groups and social organizations.
I offer these reflections to you with some degree of apprehension because I am aware that they will be unpopular with many and too radical for others. Hopefully my readers will find a new perspective for understanding the Somaliland-Somali bond and differentiation or at the very least find an opportunity for critical review of basic assumptions.
